About "El Paso soundwall" In the short story "The Great China Wall" Kafka tells that this collosal work has been accomplished through the piecemeal system, exactly the same technique used by SANdBLASTING to produce "El Paso Sound-Wall": a 100% synthetic impro of post-industrial drones assasinated by sonic brutisme stabs that reveal a solid experience in the live-act field. Then, as in a patchwork, the sounds of the impro become literally "raw material" to build 5 others power-electronics assaults (chiNOISErie) characterized by an original research on sound's grain and by a pernickety structural organization - noisician as oriental porcelains craftsman. |

"EL PASO SOUND-WALL" : THE CONCEPT In the writing of “ElPaso....” I started to work from the live session (tracks n° 1) and from it I have selected some audio samples to use them after in the making of the new tracks. All the sounds employed in this audio work (except a bass line on the track n° 2 and all the live session) have been created without the use of drum machine, synthesiseror any virtual instrument: i have only employed the samples taken from the live session and worked on them with effect and filters. This is the meaning because the track n° 1 has been called "Materia Prima" (RAW MATERIA). The sounds of the live session have became a sort of raw materia and like that have been taken, divided, used and mixed for building a new object with the same substance of the starting materia but with a different shape and contents. The final track results are cut up of breakcore, power electronics, noise and industrial that are very different from the starting live session. When you will listen to each single track you may notice that some external sounds of synth or drum machine could have be used for increasing the valour and the quality of the song, but the conceptual idea behind “Muro Pasico” is stirckly to employ only sounds and samples takenfrom the live sessio and nothing other!. In other situation you may find that some sounds could be too loud or not so bright or clean as other one.Take care of the writing on the front cover:"...This Cd contain sounds....".I have worked hardly with the filter for reducing some parasite frequencies but I could not delete them all because these are in some track part of the main sound. To appreciate the work I would suggest you to listen first the live track and then all the studio tracks. What you are starting to listen to is the final result of all this patchwork of samples and loops born from my brain. ( SANdBLASTING ) |
